I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
Here at Only In Kentucky, there’s little we love more than a good hidden gem, and we’ve found one today that, pardon the pun, quite literally rocks! Dimitridon Studios Rock Shop recently opened in Alexandria, Kentucky, and if you’re a rock and gem collector, this Bluegrass biz is everything you could ever dream of… and more!
Whether you believe in the healing power of rocks and gems or not, there's something grounding and calming about a big, smooth rock hand-carved and polished by Mother Nature herself.
And at Dimitridon Studios, which opened in Northern Kentucky in March 2021, you'll discover an abundance of beautiful and wholly unique stones and gems.
Dimitridon Studios is owned and operated by the Agdanowski family, who were inspired to open a gem shop after their boys Dimitri and Jonas developed an interest in geology. The family opened up their first shop in South Haven, Michigan; and with family connections in Northern Kentucky, they opened up the new store in Alexandra last year.
In addition to an impressive inventory stones and minerals, the store also stocks an extensive library of reference books and other geology-related titles.
Dimitridon Studios Rock Shop is a one-of-a-kind business that's all positive energy and ROYGBIV vibes. It's a delight of a place to shop; a kaleidoscope of color sure to leave you marveling at Mother Nature's inspired hand.
It’s always fun to find a new-to-us spot that’s wholly unique to the Bluegrass State — and who knows? You might just discover a new hobby when you visit this cool new shop!
