I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
Northern Kentucky and Southern Ohio both lay claim to the Ohio River, a resplendent body of water that created many a town along each state’s banks. The mighty Ohio is an extricable part of the city skylines of Covington and Cincinnati, though to really enjoy the views, a trip across the river is necessary. In Northern Kentucky, Devou Park is a treasure of a place, encompassing 700 acres of peak Bluegrass beauty. It’s a well-known park for hiking and golfing, and that’s not all — this Kentucky park is also home to a little-known overlook that’s one of the best spots for viewing multiple states.
Devou Park is a beautiful hidden gem located in Northern Kentucky's historic Covington neighborhood.
This riverfront park is scenic place to enjoy all sorts of outdoor recreation, from running and walking to golfing and birding. But our favorite thing to do at Devou Park is something anyone can do...
From the Devou Park Overlook, you’ll see the most notable landmarks and historic bridges, urban parks and iconic attractions, tallest skyscrapers and most inspired architecture... in two states! This spot affords million-dollar vistas of the best of Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati.
And the best part? This is an incredibly accessible viewpoint. Accessing this vista is simple: just drive into Devou Park and follow the signs that indicate both
parking and the way to the overlook. Happily, the path includes both stairs and a ramp, making
it stroller- and handicap-accessible.
Pack a picnic and enjoy lunch with a view or come at dusk to see a truly sublime sunset. Revel in the landscape in the height of fall foliage or during the verdant green of spring. The vistas here are always, always worth stopping for.
