In our beautiful state of Kentucky, many of our biggest parks like Cumberland Falls State Resort Park and Pine Mountain State Park tend to get the most attention. We decided it’s time to bring attention to one of the lesser-known parks that is absolutely worth taking a day trip to explore. Welcome to Kincaid Lake State Park in Kentucky, a hidden gem with so much to see and do.
Kincaid Lake State Park is a wonderful place to bring the family and spend an entire day or weekend enjoying the beauty of the place as well as all the fun activities that await.
Kincaid Lake is a wonderful spot for fishing, boating, kayaking, and swimming. You can catch sunfish, bluegill, crappie, and catfish, and paddle boats and kayaks are available to rent. Plus, there’s a large, clean swimming pool to splash around in during the warmer months.
You’ll find a fun playground for the kids and picnic tables both covered and uncovered so you can enjoy your picnic in any weather. There are grills available and restrooms nearby.
Like all Kentucky state parks, the park is filled with abundant, lush forest land where you can enjoy birding and see all kinds of wildlife. There are hiking trails if you’d like to explore further to get out in nature.
If you’d like to stay for a weekend, there are 84 campsites for tent and RV camping with electric and water hookups. Camp in comfort with easy access to a central service building with showers and restrooms. There is even a grocery store so you can pick up some last-minute marshmallows for toasting around the campfire.
This gorgeous park has it all, including basketball and tennis courts. If you want to get out into nature and also have all the modern amenities available, this is the perfect place to strike that balance. It is well worth driving across the state to visit this fantastic park.
