We share many restaurants that are hidden gems throughout Kentucky and they all seem to have a few things in common. They keep things simple, have passionate owners and strive to provide friendly service and delicious food. Louisa, Kentucky has one of these such gems in Dee’s Drive Inn. This Eastern Kentucky treasure has been serving the community for years and you’ll love the nostalgia of this classic drive in.
The best food in Kentucky tends to be hidden in our small towns and many have been around forever. Well, one of Kentucky's best kept secrets, unless you live in Louisa, is the iconic, Dee's Drive Inn. This drive in and sit down diner is the town's oldest and most loved restaurant and it's easy to see why.
There aren't many places left in the world where you can drive up and receive old fashioned car hop service. When you pull into Dee's, the menu is up on the brick wall and good luck deciding what to order. But no matter what you get, you can enjoy it in your own car.
You can also choose to have a diner experience and head inside for your meal. You'll be greeted with a welcoming smile and friendly service, along with one of the tastiest meals around.
Since the breakfast and lunch menu is so massive (they are open everyday 6am - 2pm), there are a few staples that you absolutely must try. The chili dog is one of them. Just look at that thing!
The burgers and fries are tasty too, but be sure to try the fried zucchini and especially the onion rings. The milkshakes are divine too, just as you'd expect them to be. In fact, any choice is a good one.
Eastern Kentucky and Louisa know they have something special in Dee's. There's a reason this drive in has been around for so long and why customers come back again and again. Its focus on friendly service and keeping things simple like they used to be are both reasons why this nostalgic diner is a Kentucky classic.
