There are many unique adventures to experience throughout Kentucky, and many of them take you under the ground of the Bluegrass State. We put together a list of the best underground adventures you can have in Kentucky here, but this year, you’ll want to add another incredibly unique experience to the list. Carter Caves State Resort Park is hosting “Cave-In Movie Nights,” which are exactly what they sound like: you get to view a movie on a big screen while underground in a cave, and this is one movie-watching adventure you can only have in Kentucky.
Carter Caves State Resort Park is located in Olive Hill and is known for its incredible natural beauty, both above ground and below.
Of course, it is best known for its cave system, which you can tour and explore during a visit. The park is also filled with natural arches, beautiful hiking trails, lakes, and many options for overnight accommodations.

The park hosts many events throughout the year, but quite possibly the most unique gathering is the "Cave-In Movie Nights," which are held throughout the summer and fall.
The movie night takes place right inside the Grand Ballroom of Cascade Cave and there are still three chances this year to experience this unique adventure. The upcoming dates for the 2018 movie nights are August 11th (A Wrinkle In Time), September 2nd (Jumanji, Welcome to the Jungle), and October 26th (Poltergeist). All movies begin at 7:30 p.m.

A large screen is set up within Cascade Cave, and you should bring along your own chairs. The cost is $5 per person (cash only) and you pay at the "door."
If this event at all interests you, consider making your visit longer than just for the movie night. There are plenty of other adventures to be had at Carter Caves.
Book a room at the lodge, or reserve a campsite for a night or two. Check out the park's website (linked below) for more information on these accommodations.
Although a cave tour is a must during a visit, also check out the hiking trails throughout the park. The Three Bridges Trail (shown below) is popular and offers breathtaking views and many natural bridges.
