I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
Kentucky may be world-famous for bourbon, but that’s not the only *spirited* trick up our sleeve. The Bluegrass is nothing if not well-rounded, and we have an epic beer trail to prove it! The Brewgrass Trail is an amazing tour de force of the burgeoning craft beer scene in Kentucky, highlighting some of the best brewpubs and breweries in and around Lexington. Grab your brew crew and get ready to drink your way through the Bluegrass on the most hoppin’ food trail in Kentucky!
The Bluegrass is known around the world as the epicenter of all things bourbon, but that's not the only superlative up our state's sleeve.
In recent years, craft breweries have been popping up all around the state -- and there's an amazing food trail that highlights this burgeoning brewery scene!
To complete the full trail, you'll need to pick up a Brewgrass Trail Passport, which you can find at any of the breweries or at the Lexington Visitors Center, located at 215 W Main St, Suite 75, Lexington, KY, 40507.
After you collect a stamp from six breweries of your choice, you'll drop off or mail your completed passport to the Lexington Visitors Center or any participating brewery. Your souvenir passport will be mailed back to you along with your t-shirt. Once you receive your passport back, you can then complete the rest of the stops on the trail, and choose from either a Brewgrass Trail ball cap, Brewgrass Trail beanie, or two Brewgrass Trail pint glasses! Talk about Brewgrass swag...
All breweries along the trail are well-worth visiting in their own right. One of our favorites, however, is Fusion, owned and operated by Dr. Christian Paumi, head brewer, fermentation microbiologist, husband, and dad. This is one of the most family-friendly breweries in the Bluegrass!
