Southern classics, but make them modern. That’s what you’ll find at The Bluebird, a farm-to-table restaurant located in lovely Stanford, Kentucky. From cornbread stuffing to crawfish tacos, this Bluegrass dining spot is dishing up some truly inspired, next-level Southern cuisine. If you haven’t yet visited The Bluebird, perhaps the following swoon-worthy menu items will whet your appetite. (And if you have, well, let this be a reminder to visit again soon!)
Located in historic Stanford, The Bluebird is a farm-to-table restaurant that's taking Kentucky's cuisine to the next level.
For example, fried catfish is a Southern staple, and The Bluebird mixes it up with their Catfish Hoagie: perfectly fried cornmeal-crusted catfish on a toasted roll with Sriracha mayo.
And the iconic Kentucky hot brown? The Bluebird's "Blue Brown" is a revelation: turkey, bacon-tomato-scallion crumble, smoked Gouda sauce, and grilled French bread.
As far as fried chicken goes, the Buffalo Chicken Wrap features fried Marksbury Farm chicken, house-made buffalo sauce, lettuce, tomato, shredded cheddar cheese, and ranch. It's pretty much the perfect meal.
For dessert, you need to try the shortcake: a buttermilk sugar scone, topped with seasonal fruit, fresh whipped cream, and a candied almond sprinkle! It's absolutely delicious, and will totally remind you of your Grandma's shortcake.
