Kentucky has no shortage of beautiful farmland and delicious restaurants. But at this big red barn in Lancaster, these two are wonderfully combined to serve up one of the freshest and most delicious lunches in the Bluegrass State. Pasture Burgers and BBQ is a local farm, butcher and now restaurant and dining destination that you’re sure to enjoy.
Pasture Burgers and BBQ is appropriately located right on a farm about 45 minutes south of Lexington.
Marksbury Farm is a whole animal butcher, market and now restaurant and is a wonderful spot to support local Kentucky farmers. The big red barn now serves burgers, barbecue and sandwiches for lunch, along with their typical butcher and market offerings.
The menu for lunch is mouthwatering and diverse and is made up of fresh, local ingredients.
Favorites include the Butcher Burger - a burger topped with pulled pork and beer cheese, as well as the Smoked Bologna Reuben. The meat, toppings and sides are all brought to you straight from either Marksbury itself, or a nearby local farm.

Pasture is also well known for its offerings at the butcher shop and market.
Choose from chorizo links, like those pictured above, along many other cuts of meat. You'll also find locally grown produce, honey, maple syrup and other seasonal items.
The farm is working hard to make their property a true destination. They continue to add new features on a regular basis for visitors to enjoy the farm.
The recently completed natural playground is perfect for little ones needing to run off some energy after lunch. You can also visit the "Pasture Pals" and feed them a snack or two, available inside the market. This fall they will add a festive pumpkin patch and corn maze.
Pasture at Marksbury Farm took what was already there and made it even more accessible to the hungry local crowd.
But even if you aren't local, Pasture Burgers and BBQ is worth a visit for the freshest lunch in Kentucky. The restaurant is currently open for lunch, Tuesday - Saturday from 11am to 3pm. The butcher and market are open Tuesday - Saturday 10am to 6pm.
