I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
It’s not all fried chicken and barbecue here in the Bluegrass; Kentucky is actually quite legendary for its burgers! In addition to being credited for creating the original cheeseburger, Kentucky is also home to many an acclaimed burger joint. Ollie’s Trolley is one such place; this quirky little spot has been serving the best burgers in Kentucky since the 1970s, and definitely lives up to its “World’s Best Burger” claim.
This, friends, is what a burger should be: a well-seasoned patty, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and onion, perhaps a condiment, and a bun... nothing more, nothing less.
Served with fries, and you've the makings of a classic, all-American meal. If your stomach is rumbling, take heart in knowing that this beautiful burger can be found right here in the Bluegrass State.
A Louisville landmark since the '70s, Ollie's Trolley is a delightful red-and-yellow burger joint that's located in a stationary trolley car. While its color scheme bears a striking resemblance to a certain golden franchise, these burgers are absolutely delicious, made to order, and truly something special.
In the '70s, Ollie's Trolley restaurants popped up all across Kentucky, but the fad was short-lived, and just a decade later, all but a few had disappeared. The Louisville location, however, held its spot, and today, some 50 years later, it's a legendary Kentucky establishment.
The signature Ollie Burger is the star, and widely considered among the best burgers in Kentucky -- if not *the* best. It's cooked in various spices and seasonings for a unique flavor that packs a real punch. It's so simple, yet so good.
The trolley's location lends itself to dining outside at a table or bench. There's something so satisfying about grabbing a classic burger and fries and dining outdoors.
Though just for the record, these burgers taste just as amazing when eaten from your car, too...
Have you tried the burgers from this Kentucky icon before? Ollie’s Trolley really does dish up the best burgers in Kentucky, and we’re proud to claim it in our state’s foodie hall of fame!
