It’s always fun to reminisce about childhood, but it’s even better when you can relive it as an adult. There are many places throughout Kentucky where you can act like a kid again, and one of them can be found in Louisville. Recbar is an arcade restaurant and bar where dining is a blast, and with at least 130 vintage games, it is sure to bring out your inner child.
Recbar is an exciting concept restaurant and bar in Louisville that allows all ages to enjoy a whimsical dining experience. They've basically taken a classic 80s childhood experience and put it all in one fun-filled space.
While Recbar is a restaurant, it's the 130+ games that will first grab your attention. They have a little bit of everything, including upwards of 64 different pinball machines. The owners are constantly searching and hunting down new games to add to the collection.
The games are all situated throughout the multiple large rooms of the restaurant and bar, giving you plenty of space to spread out, whether on your own or with a large group. You are welcome to bring your children along for the fun, but it does become adults-only at 10 p.m.
There are more than pinball machines at Recbar, with more variety being added all the time. There are vintage arcade games, driving games, Skee-ball, basketball, air hockey, and more.
The ping pong table is also a fun addition, and perfect for challenging your friends to a competition. All games operate with tokens, which you can get for 25 cents each. Many games take just one token, while pinball machines may take 2-4.
As you can imagine, the atmosphere of Recbar is lively, active, and ideal for catching the game and meeting up with friends. There are plenty of tables scattered about - first come, first served - where you can hang out in between games.
Even if you're less interested in the games, stop into Recbar to sample the fun and unique menu. They take childhood favorites like mac & cheese and peanut butter & jelly and add an adult twist. Be sure to browse the mouthwatering menu through Recbar's website, linked below.
Recbar is a great hangout spot for everyone, but especially those who wish to relive a bit of childhood. Enjoy a meal, have a Bourbon slush, and take your pick of the 130+ vintage arcade games that are sure to bring out your inner child.
