You can enjoy a true taste of Kentucky by visiting many places around the Bluegrass State, or you can find one spot that embodies so much of what our state holds dear. Imagine the rolling hills of a historic thoroughbred farm, a beautifully restored, southern-style mansion, freshly prepared food and locally made bourbon, and then put yourself right in the middle of that idyllic scene. It doesn’t get much more Kentucky than that and you can find all of this at Hermitage Farm in Oldham County and at its new restaurant, Barn8. Barn8 Restaurant in Kentucky is a new, farm-to-table eatery that sits on this historic farm and will become the center of a plethora of activities soon to be offered on the property. The nearly 700 acres of Hermitage Farm are a beautiful representation of the landscape of this area of Kentucky.
The historic property was saved by its current owners who have managed to conserve its charm and significance, while adding modern features that welcome the community onto the farm.
The Hermitage House, a 19th century mansion on the property, is already a popular place for events such as weddings.

The restaurant has already been offering curbside carryout from its fresh, seasonal menu, but you can now make reservations and enjoy the complete dining experience.
There are some individual dining rooms within the space that used to be stalls for the horses. Tables are made of reclaimed wood and the cooking is on display with an open kitchen, complete with Chef's bar.
The second floor is just as stunning and features a large Venetian chandelier, hanging from the original wood beams.
While the ingredients are fresh and the dishes are described like poetry, the bottom line is that the food is lovingly prepared and filled with favorite flavors in Kentucky that will satisfy any tastebuds.
And then to accompany your meal, order a glass of your favorite bourbon or even a cocktail from their innovative list.
Even though it's not far from Louisville, it's bursting with country charm and southern hospitality and you'll want to add its new Barn8 Restaurant to your list of must-dine restaurants in Kentucky.
