I am somewhat a cliche'. I grew up running around barefoot on a farm in Kentucky.
I love writing, art, sunshine, all animals and my incredibly patient husband, who tolerates my "crazy animal lady" side.
The changing of the leaves in Kentucky is almost as famed as the changing of the guard, but it’s by far, more beautiful. The colors change from shades of green to an incredible palette of autumn shades, including hues of gold, red, orange, brown, and yellow. Even better, we have such an enormous amount of acreage via forests and parks, the vibrant colors can be enjoyed almost anywhere in the state.
Here are 10 of the most incredible places to experience a Kentucky fall:
The shades of gold, yellow and orange are so vivid in Bernheim by Clermont, they seem to burst out of the forest shadow. There are both hiking and driving trails to view this natural phenomenon.
This southeastern national park was said to be first visited by Daniel Boone, in 1767. The beauty of the area leaves no reason for doubts as to why he chose to stay a while.
This wonderful fishing area offers a variety of views to enjoy the surrounding foliage. No matter your location, on the dam or in the water, everywhere you look is beauty.
Take a stroll on one of the variety of trails and enjoy the changing of the leaves up close.
Anywhere across Kentucky that has some acreage of trees takes on a fiery, almost magical appearance during the fall season. Forests glow as the sun sets behind them, giving the appearance of flames bursting out towards the sky. These are just a few places to enjoy the changing of the leaves.
