Those who live in Kentucky know that it is a beautiful state. But every once in awhile, we need to be reminded just how lucky we are. You start to take for granted the fence-lined backroads, rolling horse pastures, lake sunsets and mountain overlooks. The Louisville skyline is a popular photo-op in Kentucky and it's been so beautifully captured here. Kentucky's largest city lights up at sunset and the reflection on the Ohio is pure magic.
Kentucky is a hiker's paradise and this photo shows why. It's simple, but the earth tones and soft light evoke the peaceful feeling of exploring Kentucky's natural beauty. This photo was taken in the Land Between the Lakes area of Kentucky.
Now I haven't seen sunsets from every corner of the world, but I'm willing to bet that Kentucky has some of the best. This serene evening was captured in southern Henderson County, along the Ohio River.
When you ask others about Kentucky, they often first think of horse farms and bluegrass. Driving through our state is incredibly picturesque thanks to scenes like this - acres of rolling hills and white fencing and a charming farm in the background.
Some are surprised to learn that Kentucky has spectacular mountain views. This one from Pine Mountain is a favorite and belongs on every Kentuckian's living room wall.
Kentuckians love to be out on the water and this photo shows why. Taken in Jacobson Park in Lexington, the soft colors and warm light perfectly represent this time of day in Kentucky.
Drone photography is now giving us a unique look at our state, and we are so thankful. How else could you capture this unbelievable view of Louisville? The light in this is just remarkable.
Also captured from the sky, Cumberland Falls is one of Kentucky's most recognizable natural features. Everything about this photo is perfect and showcases the wonder of our state like never before.
You don't have to be out on a lake or atop a mountain to see beautiful views in Kentucky. As this photo shows, you can simply look out your suburban window for awe-inspiring skies, that are especially mesmerizing after a storm.
We end our photo tour in our capital, along the brick streets of Frankfort. This colorful shot is full of character and beautifully portrays the small town charm Kentucky is known for.
