I love writing, art, sunshine, all animals and my incredibly patient husband, who tolerates my "crazy animal lady" side.
Kentucky tends to get their fair share of media attention. We have our good and our bad moments, with some international recognition being repeated annually. When it comes to random interviews, it can be said that some choices could be considered questionable over the decades. Good or bad, here are 8 situations where the entire country watched the Bluegrass State in awe:
A Piper PA 34 aircraft suffered a deadly crash, leaving 4 adults dead. However, one young girl, Sailor Gutzlor, survived. She wandered several miles and found help.
Every year this thoroughbred race captures International attention, and keeps it for the duration of the festivities. The world is on the edge of their seats till the horses cross the finish line.
Clay Travis of FOX News deemed Kentucky Wildcat Fans the #2 "Dumbest Fan Bases", in the nation during October 2014. This could partially be due to the infamous couch burnings.
There are very few states that don’t get exciting media recognition at some point. Kentucky is not the most notorious by far, but we do have our share of interesting notoriety. If you can think of any suspenseful Bluegrass moments that occurred over the decades, please share in the comments below.
