There was once a time when you would meet up with friends at the neighborhood diner, pop some change into the juke box, order a cheeseburger and a chocolate shake, and simply hang out. No cell phones, no 21st Century drama. Looking back, it was a simple time, and something many of us long for today. Well, in the small town of Caneyville, you can go back to this era at a small restaurant called Pine Knob Diner. This nostalgic dining spot is straight out of the 1950s and you’re going to love it.
It's often the most unassuming of restaurants that turn out to be the best, and that is definitely true with Pine Knob Diner.
Located southwest of Louisville and Lexington, Pine Knob Diner is a hidden gem that is only open seasonly, but is worth a trip to the area. The diner is near the popular Pine Knob Outdoor Theatre and is the perfect spot to grab a bite to eat before a show. In fact, they highly recommend you do so and arrive with plenty of time to enjoy the nostalgic diner and the historic grounds surrounding the restaurant and theatre.
