This little hole in the wall at 1315 Combs Road is your basic greasy spoon with southern food, and its worth a stop. The fried pork chop is absolutely delish, with perfect seasoning. The green beans are rich with flavor and the fried green tomatoes are the perfect combination of crisp and easy to bite.

This delicious home cooking diner at 403 Mammoth Cave Street is just a short trip from the caves, making for a wonderful spot to get a meal after taking a tour. The pulled pork sandwich is a favorite and they have crisp tater tots that bring back some memories. Homemade curly fries are seasoned just right and the portions are generous and very filling. This is a must stop if you are in the area.

This wonderful home cookin’ diner at 1512 Main Street was formerly known as Momma Lou’s BBQ, but has had a name change. The food is still absolutely to die for, so that hasn’t changed at all. You get very, very generous portions and everything is cooked just right.

This local favorite is located at 355 Highway 42 E serves up the best country comfort food in the area. They serve up fresh biscuits and gravy, with homemade, not canned biscuits, hearty helpings and friendly service. It is tiny, but big, flavorful meals come in small packages. This is a must stop and relax kinda place.

This little restaurant at 708 Catlett Street is a local favorite. With a name like Memaw’s, you just know the food has to be good. The meats are cooked to perfection, not overcooked. Dishes like liver and onion are extremely flavorful without being over powering. The sides are likely something like your grandmother would have cooked up.

This local favorite at 2410 Brownsboro Road makes up some of the most fantastic breakfasts in the city. If we are in the mood for breakfast anytime of the day, this is where we go. They are open 24 hours a day, and serve breakfast the entire time. Fantastic eggs, hash browns, chili, and burgers. This is one of our absolute favorite places to dine. Lora, who is there 6 days a week, always makes it a memorable experience with mouthwatering food.

This local favorite at 311 W Water Street has been featured in Kentucky Living Magazine multiple times for their mouthwatering breakfasts and pie to die for. This is a great place to stop in for a meal if you happen to be in the Hodgenville area. Paula’s has friendly service, and freshly prepared meals that remind me of my Grannie’s house back in the day. You won’t regret making a trip out to this wonderful diner.
