Last week United Van Lines, a nationwide company specializing in moving services, released their 2015 National Movers Study showing which states were moved to and from the most over the last year. According to the study, Kansas was the sixth most moved from state, coming in ahead of New Jersey, New York, Illinois, Connecticut, and Ohio. As you probably already know, I happen to think that Kansas is one of the best states in the nation, and here is why:
George Washington Carver, the famous botanical scientist who discovered more than 300 products made from the peanut, graduated from high school in Minneapolis in 1885.

Susan Madora Salter of Argonia was elected the first woman mayor in the United States in 1887.

The "Modern Family" star was born and raised in Kansas City, and graduated from Kansas State University.
Amelia Earhart, the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean, was born in Atchison.
Kansas produces enough wheat each year to bake 36 billion loaves of bread (enough to feed more than 6 billion people for about two weeks).
