We love our Kansas natural areas, especially the rocky ones we don’t have all over. The miniature cliffs at this rocky lake are always a treat to explore. Have you been to this Kansas state park before? There’s a whole day or more’s adventure hiding out in the rocks.
Welcome to one of the rockiest lakes in Kansas, Webster Lake at Webster State Park. They're a great place to spend a day or weekend, but we think the rocky miniature cliffs are by far our favorite feature.
These miniature cliffs really are beautiful, if a little unstable. As long as you can keep your footing, enjoy a nice peek over the edge to see just how high off the water you are.
You can also see them from the waterside, where the layers of stone look a lot higher than they actually are. You can see the history layer by layer in the rock, but can you comprehend how long it took to build?
Do you know of a cool rocky area you like to explore? Tell us about it! We can’t be everywhere at once, but we’re always looking for new places to discover.
