How much do you love our Kansas outdoors? If you love primitive camping, then this site is going to be a game changer. These yurts are more than just regular primitive camping, they’re like an upgrade you never thought you could have. When you find a unique campground like this, it’ll be hard to go back to tents next time.
Welcome to the ever-beautiful Eisenhower State Park. Almost 2,000 acres of beautiful Kansas scenery and wildlife.
A yurt is a portable round tent covered with skins that usually has a lattice pattern inside. Modern yurts like these are built on a wooden frame to make them permanent, though I'm sure it also helps with those darn Kansas winds.
They're ADA accessible and perfect for any type of camping weather you feel comfortable in. Both of the yurts here are 16 feet in diameter and only have one room, but it feels like a cross between a tent and a cabin.
Inside the rentable yurts at Eisenhower State Park are a full sized bed, a futon, electricity, heat, and air conditioning. Just outside, you can also enjoy a bbq grill and a water hydrant for any other camping needs.
Though many of us like to "rough it out" without electricity, the availability doesn't mean you have to use it. It's a good place to feel at home with nature without sleeping in a cabin and completely closing yourself off.
If you want to camp in a crowd, the best option is still to take advantage of the hundreds of campsites where you'll pitch your own tents. We hope you love these yurts as much as we do for family outings!

Have you ever slept in a yurt before? They’re semi new to Kansas, but we can’t wait to see more of them. If you don’t have time for camping these days but still love to explore our natural beauty, check out this trail with one amazing lookout.
