Kansas is full of travel opportunities as well as small, unfamiliar towns. What happens when you put those things together on an empty stomach? A new restaurant to add to your Kansas dining bucket list! Farm-to-table eats are the best way to do things if you ask Turner’s Farm Kitchen, and it’s hard not to agree when they serve eats this good. Have you ever dined here before?
Welcome to Turner's Farm Kitchen, a restaurant in a little town named Burden, just northeast of Winfield.
This restaurant was opened in the space previously occupied by a restaurant named The Franklin Cafe, but with a little renovation, the whole place feels like a new piece of history. A good mix of both is what we love to see in these old main street buildings.
Farm-to-table is an easy way to operate here in Kansas, as long as you know what you're making. Meat, vegetables, and more can all be locally sourced or at least fresh off of the farm and served to you in the perfect forms. Delicious!
As for your first meal here, anything involving potatoes is a great choice. Or, if you're more adventurous, try the tacos or something new for a look into how they like to cook.
Top everything off with a slice of whatever is available for dessert, made fresh daily. Just look at this pie, for example! You can almost taste it from here.
Turner's is open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, 11 a.m. to midnight on Saturdays, and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays.
