Tree tunnels, concrete tunnels, and a covered bridge? This trail is a treat to hike or bike, especially when you’re led through three different covered areas along its path. Come check out what the Prairie Sunset Trail has in store for us, including tunnels galore and plenty of nature to go around.
Do you like adventure and a bit of excitement? Kansas has a lot of hidden little places that you just need to look in the right direction for. On the Prairie Sunset Trail, you've got miles of beautiful scenery to travel over.
One of our favorite features is this little concrete tunnel, a great spot to take a break from the sun that might be giving you a hard time on this mostly flat trail.
Next is this little covered bridge, a fun spot to slow down and really enjoy during the fall months. Of course, it's just as beautiful in the spring but nothing goes better together than red leaves and a covered bridge.
The third tunnel you'll find here is a tree tunnel, an almost complete canopy of trees that surround the path on both sides. It's just a stunning trail from end to end.
12 or so miles there, and 12 or so miles back means that you've got lots of time to spend outdoors. Bring a picnic lunch, take your good walking shoes, and enjoy this easy trail with tunnels galore.
