Is it just me, or does it seem like the smaller the town, the better the food? Lucky for us, the Sunflower State is home to several small towns with several delicious restaurants! Here are 10 of those restaurants that you’ll definitely want to visit:
1.) Alma Bakery
& Sweet Shoppe (Alma)
Homemade cookies, bierocks, cinnamon rolls, AND cherry turnovers?! Your taste buds will think they've died and gone to heaven!
2.) Beethoven's #9 Restaurant (Paola)
Oh, this "little" thing? It's just a homemade, hand-battered chicken fried steak with white gravy...No biggie.
3.) Aunt Netter's Cupcakes (Lecompton)
Aunt Netter does it all and she does it well. (I mean, are you seeing this fried green tomato BLT?!)
4.) Saddlerock Cafe (Council Grove)
It doesn't get more delicious than a cheeseburger inside a bacon cheddar bun.
5.) Gebhardt's Chicken Dinners (Mulberry)
As far as I'm concerned, homemade chicken & noodles (and homemade fried chicken) trumps all.
6.) Sommerset Hall Cafe (Dover)
Fresh caught catfish, fried chicken, and Norma's famous coconut cream pie are waiting for you at this local favorite.
7.) Haddam Cafe (Haddam)
The Town of Haddam may be home to only 101 people, but boy do they have some of the best desserts in the state!
8.) Smoke Hoss (Meade)
This small town restaurant has some of the BEST BBQ in Kansas! Stop on by--you won't be disappointed.
9.) Josie's Ristorante (Scammon)
The only other place you can get Italian food this good is in Italy!
10.) Guy & Mae’s Tavern (Williamsburg)
Don't blink or you may miss some of the best BBQ you'll ever taste!
