Here Are 8 Great Places To Go Sledding In Kansas This Winter
The middle of January is usually when winter starts to hit us hard. Who knows, it could even snow in May again! This means it’s almost sledding season, and you should have your prime sledding spots picked out. Here are 8 spots I found to start off with.

This may not be a hill made just for sledding, but you won't tell the locals that! It's a pretty good slope at 119th and KC Road. `

This slope is perfect for sledding, as long as you know how to stop yourself before you hit the street. The slope is definitely fast, but levels out before it gets too crazy. Looks like fun!

On university grounds, there's a great hill near Potter Lake where everyone can safely slide without worrying about traffic, trees, or the lake. Just watch out for any college kids!

In front of the elementary school there's a slope that's perfect for sledders of all ages.

In KC there's probably plenty of hills and slopes for kids, but when you're as paranoid as I am, sometimes you need a safer place. The city park is a great place to make sure you're safe from cars while still having a great time. Watch out for trees, though!

The only hill I used as a kid was this one, because there's no cars around, and it doubles as a kite flying hill in the summer. There's a steep front, and less steep sides to choose what kind of a ride you'd like. This place will be busy though, for sure!

Slide down to the palace over and over again with local kids and their families. If you get a good clean snow, there's usually a long line of sledders every year.

Full of college kids and families, this area is very popular for sledding, and often times there's ramps built to make it more fun. The slope is steep enough to get a lot of speed, and there's plenty of space to coast afterwards!
