Spending a fall day on this lake is a little slice of Kansas heaven. There’s enough outdoor activities to keep you busy all weekend, as long as you’d like to participate in them. If you’re a lover of the outdoors, you’ve come to the right place!
Welcome to the ever-beautiful Santa Fe Lake, which sits in Augusta, about 10 minutes away from Wichita.
This gorgeous little slice of Kansas has more than its fair share of outdoor activities for all ages and times of the day. You can come after work on the weekdays or spend a whole weekend exploring all of it.
Off of the water, you can enjoy hours of hiking and exploring, and you even have the ability to rent a bike if you'd like a quicker way to get around. You can even camp out and make a weekend of it, as long as you're prepared with a space heater if our Kansas weather takes a cold turn. You never know!
As with many visitors, you won't want to leave without seeing the waterfall coming off of the lake. It's a great place to visit, and looks absolutely gorgeous surrounded by fall colors.
Taking the North Trail up to the waterfall is a breeze. Its pretty early on in the trail, so you don't have to actually hike the 4.4 miles to see this beauty if your stamina doesn't match the trail length.
