THE KANSAS CITY ROYALS ARE IN THE WORLD SERIES, BABY!!! Why should you care? Read on as we explain why you (and everyone you know) should be rooting for the Royals:
1. First and foremost, we obviously have the greatest fans in the entire league...
2. ...as well as the greatest stadium.
Opened in early 1973, Kauffman Stadium is considered to be one of the best examples of modernist stadium design in the country.
3. We know how to tailgate...
Nothing but good ol' KC BBQ as far as the eye can see!
4. ...and watch a game.
I would pay the ridiculous World Series ticket price just to get a taste of that.
5. We've got Paulo Orlando...
Orlando never ceases to amaze us. In his first seven games with the Royals, he hit five triples and made history by becoming the first ever Brazilian to play in the World Series.
6. ...Wade Davis...
Mr. "2015 sub-1.00 ERA."
7. ...and Lorenzo Cain.
Give it your best shot, Mets--he's going to catch it and win us all free tacos!
8. A-listers love us!
Paul Rudd.
Paul Rudd, Jason Sudeikis and Will Ferrell.
9. Remember Game 1 when we wouldn't back down and went on to win 5-4 after 14 innings?
Good times.
10. Unlike other states *cough* New York *cough*, we are undivided.
In fact, more than 78% of TVs in the Kansas City area tuned in on Tuesday night...I doubt we could say the same about Queens! #yankees
11. Royals founder Ewing Kauffman not only made Kansas and Missouri's baseball dreams come true, he's made the college dreams of thousands a reality.
The late Kauffman's foundation, Project Choice, paid the college tuition of 1,400 Kansas City students who "graduated on time, avoided drugs and pregnancy, and otherwise stayed out of trouble." His legacy lives on to this day with the Kauffman Scholars program.
12. Finally, we are located right in the heartland of America and should therefore be America's team!
Keep in mind that Kansas and Missouri also give you the wheat in your bread and Great American Lager in your hand. You're welcome.
