11 Kansas Restaurants That Feed Your Heart Along With Your Stomach
Kansas is full to the brim with restaurants we love, cherish, and keep on our bucket lists for later visiting on our road trips. However, we’re always open to adding new favorites or diving back into ones we haven’t seen in a while. Have you visited all of these Kansas restaurants to feed your heart? Also, remember that this list is in no particular order! It would be too tough for us to choose a ranking of these great restaurants.

If home cooked meals that taste like home are on your list, then Gella's is one for your book. Served with a smile and usually plenty of sauce, there's just something magical about their recipes. It might be love!

If anyone understands good food and what Kansans want, it's Ladybird Diner. They've got everything from fresh donuts in the morning, to homemade meals and pie for dinner. Just looking at chili and cinnamon rolls, you know they know what we like to eat.

Speaking of what we like, we really like chicken fried steak. Cy's has sold quite a few of these plates, and if you've been biding your time to try one, we suggest sooner rather than later.

TOAST is a cafe in a town full of great food, but we think it shines all the same. There's something special about big cinnamon rolls, fresh bread, and light lunch meals that we need sometimes. Mostly the fresh baked bread, if we're being honest.

We love BBQ in all shapes and sizes, and Blind Box makes amazing ribs and stacked potatoes to match. Who could turn that down?

Stearman Field is a great little airstrip but also a great place to fly food into your mouth at the same time. Who wouldn't want to enjoy dinner with the possibility that a plane might land right before your eyes?

When we think of great fried chicken that nourishes your heart (metaphorically, of course) we think of Chicken Annie's. They have two locations, but we favor the Gerard one just based on a slight taste difference.

If you're a fan of mountain oysters or big pork tenderloin sandwiches (or both!) we think you'll enjoy Prairie Nut Hut. Not that we don't talk about them often, but if you've avoiding hearing about them so far, consider this a call to visit.

Have you tried ribbon fries before? Though it's not likely you have, we couldn't recommend them more. Along with everything else at Town's End, this food really hits you somewhere that feels right.

For lovers of sauce and Italian food, we love to point Kansans towards Martinelli's. We simply can't get enough of their meatballs and spaghetti! Even if you're not a big fan of red sauce, we think you'll find an amazing home cooked meal here.

Speaking of home cooked, this farmhouse restaurant named Mr. K's is a hidden gem you might not notice on first glance. They have a meatloaf that's plenty tasty with gravy, and other home style eating that we'll never drive past again.
