With the first official day of Autumn on September 22, it’s time to get ready for some fabulous leaf-peeping adventures. To help you plan the perfect day trip with gorgeous fall foliage, the people at SmokyMountains.com have created an updated fall foliage prediction map. While not all predictions are 100% accurate, this map uses an advanced algorithm with up to 48,000 data points to help you plan the best time to see fall foliage in Kansas.

While we may not see much change in the color of leaves in the Sunflower State today, many states are already seeing orange, red, and yellow leaves.

Then, as the leaves start to change in Kansas, make sure you head outside.

Places such as Botanica, a botanical garden in Wichita, is a beautiful place to a fall day. You can walk through more than two dozen garden exhibits and see all types of trees, plants, and flowers including more than 5,500 chrysanthemums.
By November 1, you can expect much of Kansas’s fall foliage to be at its peak. This would be an excellent time to plan a fall day trip.

Dillon Nature Center features 100-acres of beautiful ponds, trails, and grounds for you to explore. Children can play on an outdoor playground or participate in an education class. Make sure you step inside the Visitor Center to learn even more about the nature center and to visit the Wild Things Gift Shop.
Shawnee Mission Park is another excellent destination for leaf peeping. The colors around the lake are stunning.

Just make sure you don’t wait too long for all of your fall road trips and leaf peeping adventures. By November 8, you can expect the leaves to be past their peak.
