Though the most famous deli in Kansas might not sound like a lot to you, Porubsky’s has stood here for decades of history and community. If you like to tour Kansas through food, this stop is a must-visit on your travels. Come check out what they’ve got to offer!
Welcome to a piece of Kansas restaurant history, Porubsky Grocery & Meats. This deli in Topeka is more than just a sandwich shop, it's a cornerstone of the community.
Since 1947, this little deli and grocery store has been a core part of Topeka's community, serving not only fresh sandwiches but the best darn hot pickles around.
Today, more than seven decades later, you can still get homemade sandwiches, hot pickles, and chili every year. Even though the original owners aren't with us, they've set up a legacy that's lasted a lifetime.
These hot pickles have brought people back year after year, no matter how much it burns. This tasty addiction is a big reason why Porubsky's is different than all the rest.
This may be our most well-loved deli in the entire state, but do you have a restaurant with a similar history and community? Tell us all about your favorite places on our Nomination Page and we’ll take a look.
