Not many people know of all the activities you can do in this area of Kansas. These summer adventures are ready to go when you are! Make sure to mark it down for your bucket list! It’s a whole day’s worth of adventure, all in one place.
Welcome to Medicine Lodge, a town in south central Kansas with somewhere around 2,000 residents. They have a rich Native American history, and are known for historical reenactments and more.
Medicine Lodge is also the home to the Carry Nation home, a significant figure in not only Kansas, but America as a whole. Carry Nation was infamous for using a hatchet to destroy saloons and bars, fighting for prohibition.
Next on our list is the historic Stockade Museum, a place to learn about pioneer life in a stockade, both the good and the bad. The 1870s were such a unique time in Kansas's history, it's important to learn about it!
After your visit to the Carry Nation home and the Stockades museum, we definitely recommend getting a bite to eat at Raykies Burgers. A fresh burger and fried sides goes a long way, especially if you get a shake as well.
Of course, the star of the show is almost always the Gypsum Hills. They're simply gorgeous, and a welcome relief from many flat scenes that border most of our highways.
