Lindsborg, Kansas, also known as “little Sweden” for the town’s Swedish heritage, transforms into a stunning winter village every year. Have you seen the beauty in person yet? It’s something we think everyone should watch happen at least once. Come check it out!
Welcome, or should I say Valkommen , to Lindsborg, Kansas. A beautiful town full of Swedish heritage through the year, but during the winter, something special.
The town works hard to bring everything together before the festivities, and there's plenty of work to go around. Every year in the winter, Lindsborg transforms into a stunning winter village.
A big part of the season is the St. Lucia Festival, held the second Saturday each December. It's held to honor Lucia, who steered a ship full of light and food to save the people of Sweden from starvation.
Lucia Day (the crowning of a girl chosen from town to be the honorary Lucia), Julotta (a morning pre-Christmas church service) and an old fashioned Christmas celebration. There's a lot going on, and the whole month is packed with excitement.
Whether you're most excited about the town decor, the Valkommen trail lights on the bridge, or the folk dancing, we hope you enjoy winter festivities here.
