Dating back to the early 1900s, spinach has grown particularly well in Kansas soil and is a vital part of its history. In fact, the city of Lenexa, located on the eastern side of the Sunflower State, is known as the Spinach Capital of the World. To celebrate this important piece of history, this gorgeous Kansas city hosts the biggest spinach festival around.

Welcome to the annual Lenexa Spinach Festival! This is a one-day event that will take place Saturday, September 11, 2021, and you will not want to miss it.

This festival began in 1982 by the Lenexa Historical Society. It was originally created to promote local artists and their creations but over time, the society involved spinach and the theme stuck. Today, thousands of individuals come to Lenexa to celebrate.
