Kansas is known for its sunflowers and open prairie, but did you know that it is also famous for its spinach? Dating back to the early 1900s, spinach has grown particularly well in Kansas soil and is a vital part of its history. In fact, the city of Lenexa, located on the eastern side of the Sunflower State, is known as the Spinach Capital of the World. To celebrate this important piece of history, this gorgeous Kansas city hosts the biggest spinach festival around.
The Lenexa Spinach Festival will take place Saturday, September 11, 2021, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Sar-ko-Par Trails Park, 87th Street Parkway, and Lackman Road in Lenexa. To learn more about the vendors, contests, and events that will take place during this festival, click here.
