We’re lucky enough to have one of the latter zoos in Kansas: the Sedgwick County Zoo in Wichita is one of the very best zoos in the country. This magical place is one of the most beloved family-friendly attractions in the state. You’ll be able to see a variety of animals from all over the world and learn all about their lives in the wild.

The Sedgwick County Zoo is one of a handful of zoos in Kansas that are AZA-accredited.

Accreditation from the American Zoological Association indicates that a facility meets standards of humane upkeep for the animals that live there. It also means that the zoo is one that is working towards the conservation of wild animal populations.
You'll find more than 3,000 animals here, including many species that are not native to the United States.
