At some point, word went around that honking at this particularly old tree on K96 gave one good luck. Not that I haven't also honked at it, but the concept is pretty strange, if you ask me.

No one has figured out why this little family in Cherryvale decided to go on a murdering spree, but the closest we've come to a motive is money. Maybe they should have been bandits instead?

He handed the teller a card, stating he had a weapon and wanted cash. However, he chose to hang out on a bench in the lobby, and simply turned himself in when officers arrived. His motive? He preferred a jail cell over living with his wife, according to his statements to police. How nuts is that?

It had escaped its handlers during a performance, and the woman had simply been headed to the bathroom. However, it didn't attack her, and was captured safely. More reason not to keep tigers in circuses, I'd say!

If you weren't sure, then yes, a pterodactyl is a dinosaur, and the last of them became extinct somewhere around 66 million years ago. Yet, this woman claims it had featherless wings at a span of 16-20 feet. However, there's an entire book called Live Pterosaurs In America which collects the sightings of these long-extinct creatures all across the country. Definitely one of the strangest things I've heard, that's for sure!

Whether it's a tornado one day or a snowstorm the next, you'd think we wouldn't love this place so much. But we do love it, and it's well worth the occasional disaster to live in such a great place.
