Do you know what flavor is so associated with summer that you can hardly escape it? Watermelon, of course! There’s nothing more refreshing that some cool watermelon on a hot day. This tiny town in eastern Kansas loves it so much that they have created an entire festival that becomes a watermelon wonderland every year. Do you love it enough to visit this town and celebrate with them? Let’s take a look at what they’ve got this year.
Every year a tiny town of about 500 people named Potwin throws a fantastic festival based around a favorite summer food. Watermelon!
On August 24th and 25th of 2018, enjoy a small town watermelon festival like no other. It happens every year in August, so if you can't make it this year, make sure to mark your calendars to stop by next time.
In addition to this juicy red fruit, there's more than a couple things to do during this two-day festival.
They have plenty of live music, vendors, drawings, all sorts of sports tournaments for all ages, a watermelon eating contest, a pin-up contest, car show, and of course, free watermelon!
