Kansas is full of adventurers, explorers, and historians. Look for a small town in Kansas with great scenery or a love for history, and you’ll find more than a handful. We think this tiny town in Kansas doesn’t get the love it deserves, so we’d like to shed a little light on how great of a place it is. Come check it out!
Today, we're going to check out one of the best little towns in Kansas.
It was founded in 1872, and named after Capt. Orloff Norton. They've been documenting their Kansas history since the beginning, and their first tornado pictures were taken in 1909. Maybe they still have a lot of storm chasers!

What started as a tiny town with one log cabin hotel, has grown into this charming bit of Kansas where you'll enjoy every sunrise, sunset, and meal in between.
The skies here seem to paint extra pretty pictures for local photographers, but maybe they're just smelling the food all day and want to spread the love. After all, the comfort food served at Town and Country Kitchen and Pfonz's is nothing short of magical when you've worked up an appetite exploring.
There's a couple big attractions, including Prairie Dog State Park, a less well-known piece of Kansas that's teeming with wildlife and the potential for a weekend of fun outdoors trying to spot prairie dogs.
You'll also enjoy Keith Sebelius Lake, where you can spend a warm day fishing and enjoying the wind in your hair.
If you're into history, you should definitely check out They Also Ran, a museum gallery full of portraits and quick descriptions of each presidential candidate that didn't quite make it.
Make sure to bring your camera along, because the skies over Norton are nothing you'll want to miss.
Norton is in northwestern Kansas, in Norton county. Feel free to use this map below to help you navigate your way there, or comment below for a more detailed description depending on where you’re located. As always, happy trails!
There’s another small town in Kansas that’s caught our eye recently, and you’ll find that it’s a great place to relax for a great vacation from home. Unless you’re lucky enough to already live there!
