It’s pretty common to find good food wherever you go in Kansas. However, to find 10 different restaurants all offering delicious meals… in one small town? That’s almost unheard of. These scrumptious restaurants aren’t something to overlook when visiting this one small town in the middle of the plains. Where are we going, you ask? To Abilene, of course!
The town itself has about 7,000 residents, many of which participate in some form of historical reenactment for town events. It’s the location of the beautiful Lebold Mansion, and the historic Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library, which is now a museum. It’s also home to an incredible number of restaurants, of which we’ve chosen 10 of the best. Let’s take a look.
This isn't your average city grill with dry steaks and old sides. This eatery makes their food fresh, and you can tell. There's always something on the menu for everyone, but be prepared to wait a little if they're busy!
Bakeries don't usually serve homemade chicken and noodles, but you should definitely give Amanda's a try. If this meal isn't your style, they have plenty of other fare (and lots of cake).

Yes, I know this is first and foremost a bowling alley, but why not enjoy both food and fun at the same time? This little spot is perfect for a night out with the family, and they get strike when it comes to taste.
Many tourists come here for the experience and leave with a full belly, our favorite part of Brookville is their fried chicken. If you're the type, you've gotta try their homemade relishes.
If you're looking for greasy bar food that hit's the spot just right, look no further than Midway. Their juicy burgers fit right in with the bar atmosphere, and they go great with an ice cold beer.

If you find yourself wishing for the sea, look for 311 instead! All sorts of food including mahi-mahi tacos are served at this restaurant, including the pictured loaded fries with brisket and cheese. They're rightfully dubbed "The Key West of the Midwest" for sure.
