Have you ever seen a mural so large you can’t see it all at once? This legendary mural in Kansas is probably the largest in the whole state, considering its length and height. If you’ve never seen a mural this huge before, you really should! Next time you’re in the northeast area of Kansas, consider stopping by this historical masterpiece of a painted wall. Let’s take a look!
Of course, the wall in question is a huge one. The Anthology of Argentine mural in Kansas City, Kansas is so large, you'll want to walk its length yourself.
The total length of this artistic piece is 660 feet, making it one of the largest in the area, and larger than any other I've seen in Kansas thus far. It's also 23 feet high, making it quite the challenge to paint.
The story starts with the Hopewell Native Americans and other tribes that were forced to move to this area, and includes scenes like the silver smelter, Mexican workers brought here to lay railroad tracks, the great flood of 1951, and other famous scenes from the Argentine area.
It's a long story, but you've got plenty of time to walk next to each part of it. What would you put on a history themed mural in your neighborhood if you had this much space?
Here's the full video by FOX4 News Kansas City photojournalist Jon Haiduk with footage of the mural and a little history.
You’ll find this giant, beautiful mural at 1501 Woodland Blvd, Kansas City, Kansas.
