Have you been looking for a new nature area to explore these days? It’s easy to keep going back to your favorite locations, but looking through somewhere new is always a treat. These trails and the nature area surrounding them contains some of the most beautiful scenes of Kansas, and that’s a fact. Come see the beauty for yourself!
Welcome, to the beautiful and natural area of the Lehigh Portland Trails. This absolutely stunning area is over 100 acres of woodlands, prairie, and quarry lake. It's easy to enjoy these by yourself or with friends, and on foot or bike when the weather permits.
The over 13 miles of trails here mostly weave in and out of the woodland areas, some getting closer to the water like the Creekside trail, and others seemingly getting lost between tree and prairie.
Within these trails, you'll stumble across many beautiful things that sometimes surprise and delight. Who knows what you'll find on each trail, around the next corner.
On the Mt. Lehigh trail, you'll find rockier terrain, but also you'll often see stacked rocks from frequent visitors who like to spice up the natural landscape with something cool. It's a good way to pass the time during a break, as well.
Of course, before any biking, make sure all the trails are dry, otherwise you'll just have to go by foot. When it is dry season, there are locally hosted beginner's bike trips through the trails for you to enjoy if you're not already an experienced trail biker.
