When’s the last time you had some great Mexican style eats? There’s plenty of restaurants all over the state that meet that description, but do any stick out to you? This Mexican restaurant in south central Kansas is sure to delight both your tastebuds and your wallet. Plus, they’ve got a fiery surprise for anyone that orders their special drink. Come check it out!
Felipe's Mexivan Restaurant has been around since 1967, and they have no intention of leaving anytime soon.
They started with humble beginnings, and spread to four different locations in Wichita, each offering the Felipe's charm while serving all of Wichita and surrounding neighborhoods. They take good care in their food, and you'll find that you're paying a fair price for the portions you receive, which are more than enough to fill up any customer.
Other fare includes fajitas, plenty of combo meals, and of course, amazing dessert. It's hard to pick between fried ice cream, flan, and their amazing sopapillas. They also have what they call a "Mexican banana split" which involves fried tortillas, bananas, and ice cream. Why not try them all, right?

Their hit item, however, is the Flaming Cazuela. This 40-ounce drink has been popular for years, but they're serving them more then ever these days.
It's a drink made with citrus juices, tequila, vodka, rum, and triple sec, with a couple secret ingredients to make it unique to Felipe's alone. It's marked by a signature flaming orange peel, and being served in a bowl. You'll never forget your first one, but you might if you drink it all alone!
Consider adding Felipe's to your bucket list this year, because it'd be a shame if you missed out.
They're open from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and from 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. on weekends. On Mondays, they are closed. Don't miss out!
You’ll find the original Felipe’s at 3434 west Central in Wichita, Kansas. However, they do have other locations in town, at 21st and Woodlawn, Harry and Webb, and 119th W and Maple. Happy trails!
