When it gets cold out, most of us just want to stay inside. However, Christmas is coming and we love to celebrate with events and local attractions! There’s so much to do in Kansas around the holidays, it’s crazy. However, one location you shouldn’t miss is this amazing Isle of Lights display. Why don’t you come take a look?
Welcome to Winfield's Isle of Lights, where the magic of Christmas is spread all around the park.
It's not on an actual island, but the park itself is like a little getaway within the town. During the holidays, it's decked out with lights all around the park for you to drive through.
While you're viewing the amazing lights, consider supporting a local (and their horses) by taking a carriage ride.
Rides are $5 per person and held on Fridays and Saturdays from 6 to 10pm, weather permitting. A ride around these lights would be so romantic, don't you think?
All of the people working here are volunteers, and the profits go towards new displays and making it happen again next year. That means that every year, it grows bigger and better!
They look forward to replacing all the lights with LEDs and creating bigger and better displays for years to come.
Admission to this attraction is free, but donations are always appreciated, as they make sure the season stays bright each year. But be quick! It's only open until the end of the year. Plus, it's open every night of the week from 6-10pm!
Here’s a great video posted that shows you just how magical this place is!
Wasn’t that amazing? Come take a look for yourself this year, and find them using this map below. Or, use the address 200 Main St., Winfield, Kansas to make your way to Island Park. Drive safe!
