As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
We don’t always have the time to travel to multiple places across the state, or even multiple places near each other on one trip. Luckily, this historic hotel also includes a restaurant that makes it easier to explore multiple types of attractions at the same time. Plus, you can stay the night if you want to explore this hotel and restaurant further! Come check this unique place out.
Welcome to the Beaumont Hotel & RV park, a historic 2-in-1 destination that not only contains a delicious restaurant, but a cozy place to stay for the night.
Created back in 1879, the original purpose of this building was to serve as a stagecoach shop and inn for those traveling via rail or trail. The town and hotel became an important spot for cattlemen at the time, who were all attracted to the lush flint hills as pasture.
Then, as travel changed to include airplanes and the like, it became trend for people to land their planes on the main street of Beaumont itself. In 1953, they carved out an airstrip next to the Beaumont hotel to take the place of the main street and make things a little safer and more convenient for everyone. To this day, your small aircraft can taxi right up next to the building's entrance.
Inside the hotel, you'll find cozy country decor and plenty of great Kansas heartland service. It's like spending the night at grandma's house, where everything is comfortable and makes you feel right at home.
In addition to comfort, their cafe also brings comfort to your stomach, and our favorite dish is their chicken fried steak. Check for specials and don't be afraid to meet new people!
In addition to the novelty of a fly-up hotel, they also are home to the oldest wooden water tower in the country. Additionally, you'll find informational signs around the property, that explain more of the history of Beaumont at this hotel's origins.
Whether you're here mainly for food or for a place to stay, you'll find that this is a great spot to try out. Stretching your legs or staying in for the night, you'll find it's a great attraction for anyone's needs.
