Kansas is just one of those states that loves to take its favorite holiday and make it a huge celebration. Of course, that means there’s more fun to be had everywhere you go! Every year, this one town in Kansas goes all-out for Halloween, with a whole week’s worth of fun in the spirit of the season. This century-old Halloween Wonderland isn’t something you’ll want to miss out on.
That celebration of course, is Neewollah right in Independence, Kansas.
This celebration has moved from a small event to something that attracts Kansans from all over the state. Back when I was in high school, I even attended a marching band competition here.
It all started in 1919 to provide positive activities so that pranks happened less often. Of course, who wouldn't ditch a toilet paper roll for a chance to be in such a cool parade?
It was a hit, and grew over the years to eventually include the Neewollah Queen competition, all sorts of community activities, and a bigger and better parade than the original organizers could ever hope for.

Oh, did I mention there was a carnival too? These rides are the icing on the cake for anyone who wants to experience the whole celebration.
For any additional questions, call the Neewollah Headquarters at 877.633.9655 or check out their website here. Did you know there’s only one Halloween celebration in Kansas that’s older than Neewollah? This Halloween parade in small town Kansas is the longest running in the whole country. Check it out!
