The combination of fire and sky is always popular, especially when it comes to summertime. Fireworks are a true classic, but sometimes the noise is a little much to handle, and shows just don’t last very long. Why not take a trip to participate in Kansas’ most magical lantern festival?
The Lantern Fest is an event company that travels to many places with their lantern festivities. Events start in the afternoon, but once the sun goes down, lanterns are lit for the night's journey.
Then, you can simply bask in the wonders of so many lanterns flying through the night. Make sure to bring a blanket or chairs to sit on as your watch the sky light up with these warm paper lights!
No matter your age, you'll fall in love with watching the lanterns calmly rise through the sky until they're no longer close enough to be seen. It's a great idea for a date night, family outing, or even alone!
In 2016, nearly 2,300 lanterns were set loose over El Dorado Lake, making it seem like the milky way had flown down from the sky. This year, they're setting off from the same location on September 23rd.
