Kansas is home to a number of great attractions for a family trip, but have you seen them all? This particular spot in Goddard will have your kids begging to go back every weekend. In addition to being a great place to spend the day, it’s unique with what entertainment it offers your family. Why don’t you come give it a try?
Tanganyika Wildlife Park gives all visitors a chance to see these animals up close, and in happy habitats where they're engaged and played with often by volunteers and zookeepers.
In addition to a fantastic layout, there's also the opportunity to engage personally with the animals. With an upgraded admission or season pass (or a couple bucks,) that is. Get the chance to feed the lemurs, rhino, giraffe, lorikeet, bunny, tortoise, guinea pigs, or the pygmy hippo! Or, you can ride the camel, if you want.
These animals range in size from giraffes to bunnies, and some are in areas where you're able to walk right up to them and give them a pet. Haven't you ever wanted to pet a little kangaroo?
However, it's a little more pricey than the county zoos you're used to. They need the extra funding to raise babies for other zoos who may not have the facilities or extra hands. however, the more you spend, the more you get. The biggest admission package is $40 per adult, and includes 10 animal encounters and a souvenir photo. So really, you're paying extra for the chance to feed or pet animals you can't at regular zoos.
This wonderful park is open during the warmer months, with their hours varying depending on the time of year. Their address is 1000 S Hawkins Lane in Goddard, Kansas. Why don't you come down for an adventure sometime?
