Most People Don't Know There Are 25 Statues Of Liberty Hiding Around Kansas
The Boy Scouts of America decided that for their 40th anniversary (in 1950) they would place replicas of Lady Liberty around America. There are about 200 of them, and we’re lucky to get a few here in Kansas. Not only are there more than a handful, but there are 25 different miniature Statues of Liberty hiding around Kansas. How many have you seen on your travels around the state?

Garnett keeps theirs close by, at Courthouse Square, but close to the street where you can see it every day.

Hillsboro's Statue of Liberty is nestled in the trees at Hillsboro Memorial Park.

The Memorial Hall and Civic Center is where Independence proudly displays their piece of the liberty puzzle.

Kingman prefers to keep theirs close to school, yet displayed in an open area near the sidewalk.

La Crosse has an entire area dedicated to her, at the City Park.

Leavenworth's City Hall scenery is the perfect backdrop, where Lady Liberty can stand tall.

Liberal's Memorial Library was the perfect place to stand this statue.

Medicine Lodge likes to keep theirs close to the children, at the grade school.

Overland Park's Statue of Liberty is close to many students at Shawnee Mission North High School.

Parsons, too, keeps theirs close to school. This time, it's southwest of Parsons Middle School.

Gateway Park was the perfect place in Pratt to park this lady.

Russell found the best spot for her at Lincoln Park.

St. John keeps her near the City Park Square, framed in colorful foliage.

Salina displays her in Oakdale Park, where she weathers anything coming her way.
