When you have young children, some of the best memories include getting out of the house, walking off excess energy, and connecting with nature. Hiking is a terrific family activity no matter the ages of your family members. However, you must find a hike that is easy, short, and well worth your time when you have little ones accompanying you. The Geary Falls Trail at the Geary State Fishing Lake and Wildlife Area is one kid-friendly hike in Kansas that your entire family will love.
The Geary Falls Trail is a 0.7-mile out-and-back hiking trail. The majority of the trail is flat and it is rated easy.
Near the end of the hike, you’ll come to Geary Lake Falls. The falls can reach up to 35-feet tall and are absolutely mesmerizing. However, if there has been little rain, these falls may not be very impressive.
If you desire, you can hike below the falls to capture an even better view. However, be aware that this path is difficult for young children. It is a steep climb that can be muddy and wet.
The Geary Falls Trail is a kid-friendly hike in Kansas you certainly will not want to miss. The waterfall and scenic views are worth every step of this trail. Have you ever hiked the Geary Falls Trail? If so, we’d love to hear about your experience on this trail.
