Even if it’s cold until March, these seven frosty festivals will be sure to keep you warm and help you forget about the winds we know so well. Brr!
1. Wichita Historical Museum's Holiday Wreath Festival
There's plenty of wreaths here for every holiday lover, and they're for sale! The scent of pine trees will feel oh so cozy as you shop around for the perfect addition to your home decorations. Visit in late November 2016, at 204 South Main st.
2.Lecompton's Territorial Capital Museum's Historic Christmas Display
From November 2016 to January 2017, this Kansas Museum displays over 100 different Christmas trees as well as antique ornaments galore. They also have a live 15 foot cedar tree in their Chapel! What a way to get into the spirit of the holidays and knock the snow (or slush) off your boots. At 640 E. Woodson St., they sure knows how to celebrate with unique festivals of their own!
If you're less into the holidays and more into loud noises and cheering crowds, maybe this event in mid-November 2016 is for you! Every year, Topeka, Kansas hosts a winter themed wrecking festival where you can watch cars dash, smash, and crash their way through the arena.
