Kansas has a rich history that’s well involved with Native American tribes, and though we often hear about the battles, we don’t often hear about the culture of the various peoples involved. For Kansas, one of the best spots to learn about Native culture and customs is this special spot.. If you’ve ever wanted to learn about some of the Native American tribes throughout America, you’ll find lots at this Kansas museum. Come take a look for yourself!
Welcome to the Mid-America All-Indian Center, a museum where you'll find information all about different Native tribes' art and culture.
Starting in 1969, the goal of the center has been to preserve and teach the history and culture of any and every native nation any way they can. It's a home for authentic historical items as well as more current art and handmade goods from local donators.
The art displayed here at the center comes from various locations, but each features those bright, vivid colors of the rainbow that you can find in any native art from any era, especially the crimson and turquoise.
Over 3,000 artifacts call the Center home, and you can also take home something from your visit as well from the gift shop, helping keep this beautiful museum open.
Not only will you find Native American information at the museum, but also along the Riverside area in Wichita, including spots around Riverside park and the Keeper of the Plains area just east of the Center.
For more information about this museum, check out their website or their Facebook page.
Address: 650 N Seneca Street, Wichita, KS 67203
