We all love our Flint Hills, yes? They make us think of beautiful paintings and songs about the heartland. However, at one event during the summer, you can actually hear the music of the hills.
This event started in 1994, when a Matfield Green rancher invited the public to a "symphony on the prairie" for her birthday. Ever since then, it's stuck to us like glue. Today, it attracts about 7,000 visitors from Kansas and across the world to see this beautiful performance.
This year's theme for the event is Ad Astra, and what phrase could be more fitting? Not only is there going to be amazing music, but there will also be art, education, and more.
Do you think you'll go this year? Tickets go on sale on March 2, 2019 at 10 a.m. so make sure to get yours as early as possible if you want to go this year.
