Whether you’re hungry and on the road or just plain hungry, there’s a plethora of restaurants in Kansas that’ll suit your needs. Most of us enjoy a nice sit-down joint with home-style food and plenty of fried options. This restaurant in small town Kansas has some of the best doggone food, and you’ll just have to taste it to believe me. (Plus, isn’t most of Kansas countryside whether it’s a small town or not?)
Welcome to the historic (and delicious) Mr. K's Farmhouse, a restaurant in small town Abilene that's sure to delight.
In 1939, a woman named Lena opened this farmhouse as a restaurant, and it's been here ever since, carrying her legacy since the 90s, about 20 years after Lena had retired. Lena had even served Eisenhower, a famous Abilene native.
As soon as you step in, you're greeted like family and brought in for dinner.
Everything smells like heaven in the form of food, and you'll soon realize that sometimes food really does make you feel better. It's not magic, but they do put love into every dish.
They also sell bottles of their house ranch dressing, which is some of the best I've had in ages. It goes great on their huge salads, which also make a great lunch if you're trying to get more greens in your diet.

Of course, one of the best reasons to eat here is their homemade dessert!
Everything from pie to cake to cheesecake might be available, if you're here in time to get any! If you're expecting that you'll love it no matter what, you can also just order one ahead of time. That's what I would do!
Mr. K's is a great place no matter if you'd like lunch or dinner. Just make sure you don't forget that pie!
